In light of the enormous number of more than 32 million children in Bangladesh who are living below the international poverty line we want to found a children’s village in the north of the country.

At the Children’s Village Haluaghat, located about 170 km north of the capital Dhaka, the children will not only get formal education but will also acquire practical abilities which will help them to cope with their daily lifes. In order to achieve this goal, they will attend the included school.

Each child arrives at the village with its very individual story but there’s one thing they all have in common. In their earliest childhood, every single one of them got to know the remorseless reality of life in the streets of Dhaka. At the village, the children shall be given the chance to free themselves from their traumatic past, develop new perspectives and experience social relations in a totally new surrounding. The location in safe distance to urban slums offers the required protection and desistance to their former life on the streets.
