Bangladeshi advocate Fayazuddin Ahmad studied Comparative Human Rights, Humanitarian Law and International Development Law at the Universities of Dhaka (LL.M. 1999) and Warwick (LL.M. 2008).
Fayazuddin Ahmad started his career 1996 at Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), a legal aid and human rights NGO in Bangladesh. In 1999 he joined the Coalition for the International Criminal Court (CICC) and was the Program Coordinator of the Asian Network for the International Criminal Court (ANICC) until 2002. During that time he also served Dr. Kamal Hossain & Associates as a Junior Counsel (1997/98) and Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed & Associates as a Counsel (2002/03). From 2003 to 2006 he worked as a Human Rights Officer for Action on Disability and Development (ADD), a British development and human rights agency in Bangladesh. He then joined the Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), an agency promoting human rights and good governance, and stayed there until he took up a post as an Expert Consultant at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 2007.
Fayazuddin Ahmad conducted legal & policy research for RDRS (Bangladesh) and drafted disability bills on behalf of NFOWD (Bangladesh) and Action Aid Bangladesh. He regularly publishes socio-legal research articles in the Daily Star.
